Uncle, uncle!

January 20, 2013 — Leave a comment

From the latin avunculus meaning “little grandfather” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle

My brother and his wife just had a baby! I am very happy to hear the good news.

Uncle also means “I surrender!”

Language can be funny sometimes.

My dad went out to the illustrious Primo Market in Oceanside, CA. We got some food and ate it in shifts. I think it is the best way to do it when you’ve got a tiny table. The children eat first. After we finished fooding, My brother, mom, Nichole, Sage, Lucy and myself took a walk in the neigboorhod I grew up in. It rained a couple days ago so there are many flowering plants in bloom. During walks, I watch for cars (on the road and in driveways), dog poop, bees, dog teeth, puddles, pointy sticks and meanacing looking folks. It is always a pleasant time. Lucy is 18 months old. She can walk nearly 80% of the loop these days.

Missing my brats

God I love my children! I had an opportunity to miss my kids today. It is unusual, and a little unnecessary considering that this is the last day of my hyper-hectic work schedule. My mom offered to watch my son and daughter today so I could get some extra sleep before going off to work from 4PM until midnight.

I am really looking forward to seeing them again. I may not always be content, but I think I can do this life an hour at a time.
