Archives For housework

Seeking work as a stay at home parent, I came across this article: http://parenting.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/06/29/the-doubts-of-a-stay-at-home-dad/ .

One of the contributors talks about his experiences after reading the book “Torn” by Samantha Parent Walravens. The dad shares some of his fears about creating an anti-feminist model for his daughters, procrastinating the development of his retirement fund and also examining the experience of other SAHPs. I get the impression that knowing what he knows now, he’d do it all over again. He also asks some thought provoking, unanswerable, (fear-generating) questions to the reader.

It sort of makes me want to read the book, but not on paper. I’m still holding out for my tableto.
Now, I’m going to take my sweet nugget babbys to a park. Screw housework, in the name of SCIENCE!

Loads of Laundry

I’m doing the housework. I have integrated a couple of old games to make a new game for my boy. Cars + chalk = super fun road building action. His mother, a civil engineer, would be proud.

I am trying to distract myself from doing work by doing work. It’s working! I am about to go purchase a power sander, rotary tool and some stain to paint the fence between our house and the party kids. I may need to get another paintbrush too. I will do my best to take care cleaning this one.
