Malmater

I have been struggling and succeeding at staying positive this past year. I have gained and lost the largest amount of debt so far in my life. I have been on several adventures and met many characters (some of whom I am glad to have had many of them disappear back into the umbra). A few months away from what my goal of physical, mental (hopefully emotional), financial equilibrium, I’m looking toward working differently.

I have been doing a handful of searches looking for cheap and free online degree programs in computer science. I have been told and want to believe that I will not be needing a degree. This is in contrast to what the fear-driven and powerful (because I have lent them my power) believe.

Luckily, I have discovered a couple of familiar sites that offer free education in technology. Some of these sites offer certificates for their courses. Others merely claim to be an amalgam of the best training found in the best universities. Simplicity is a pattern which has been suggested me by all my greatest teachers.

What then will I do? Name my skill-set. I can learn to program in an easy, simple and useful language. I can learn how to keep abreast of the latest changes in what software can do. I can become informed of the need for social change in the world around me. I can piece together my portfolio as I learn for two good reasons. First, I will comfort myself with the idea that I have some sort of proof that I know something. Second, I will be able to show a client what type of service I am capable of providing.

Would you look at that. I feel better about my situation already!
