Have you ever heard the “Lord’s Prayer”? It was one of the first prayers I remember being taught as a child. Whether it brings you comfort or makes you cringe, it has an interesting layer of stories tied to it. It is said that it was taught by the Avatar, the creator of the universe in human form. He spoke it as a response to a human question: “How are we supposed to pray?”

I was later taught that something was lost in the translation from Aramaic to English. I assume it wasn’t directly translated to English either. I have been informed that the prayer once began “Our creator who exists in all things…” I have been scoffed at by members of several organizations for sharing this gem.

I would like to look into the translation more closely. I know it could be maddening, it may even be blasphemy! Thank God my spiritual tradition is *NOT* going to hold it against me. It would be very interesting to imagine the world that could be if it were influenced by this more harmonious rendition of such a popular supplication to the creator.
